How to tie a lamb roast

Tying or trussing lamb is about form and function. It gives your roast an even shape for even cooking, plus locks in the juices and any stuffing for maximum tastiness.

LAMB CUTS THAT LIKE A BIT OF TYING UP

- Boned shoulder

- Boned leg

- Easy-carve leg

- Boned and rolled loin

- Lamb mini roast

 

WHAT TO USE

- A medium-weight, natural, undyed, all-cotton string. 

- Heat resistant, reusable cooking bands are a great alternative – find them in speciality kitchenware shops. 

- Butcher's twine – ask your butcher for a couple of lengths.
